Propane Barbecue
One of the most popular ways off cooking food in backyards
is with a propane barbeque. Propane is cheap and widely available, a
cylinder costs about $5 and can be refilled for about $25. Once the
cylinder is purchased, they can be traded in for full cylinders at a
cheaper cost, and quickly reattached to the grill. This ease of procuring
fuel has led many people to purchase propane grills.
A propane barbeque lights up instantly which many people prefer over
charcoal. A charcoal grill has to light, which can be difficult sometimes,
and it also takes time to heat up evenly to the correct heat. Changing
the temperature is much more difficult with charcoal as well, so more
experience is necessary to cook with it. Propane offers an easy alternative
that also burns very clean. There is no smoke or ash to worry about,
and almost no clean up at all after finished.
Propane tanks come in a variety of sizes as well so a propane barbeque
can be taken in the back of vehicles, or even hiked into campsites.
Many small portable grills use cans of propane smaller than a two liter
bottle which are light enough to be put into a backpack. The grills
often fold out from a small footprint, or are a minimalist design that
keeps the food close to the flame. Propane is a safe and easy alternative
to charcoal.
