Portable Barbecue

A portable barbeque is designed to travel from location to location easily and cook food efficiently. They are light and small, but are very similar in design and materials as regular backyard barbeque grills. They are most commonly fueled by smaller propane cylinders that are about the size of a one liter bottle. Charcoal can also be used effectively as well in many portable grills.

The grilling surface of a portable barbeque is the same as regular barbecues, usually a stainless steel grate, but to make it portable the size of the grate is reduced. This means that less food is able to be cooked at the same time, so these are much better suited for smaller groups of people.

Cooking on a portable barbeque is the same as cooking on a regular grill. The same precautions have to be taken to prevent burns and fires. When grilling in the woods or while camping it is especially important to be careful with heat and fire. The grill should be placed on rocks where it cannot ignite any dry fuel and cause a much more dangerous fire.
